Qld: Power failure hits 14,000 Brisbane homes

Energex staff in Queensland are working to restore power to thousands of homes in Brisbane'snorth-west.

An Energex spokeswoman says about 14,000 homes lost power in the suburbs of Mitchelton,Enoggera and Stafford and Ferny Hills area at 1.30pm (AEST) today.

The spokeswoman says power to 60 per cent of those homes has been restored but 5,000remain in the dark.

They're still investigating the cause of the blackout.
